about Methods.
What’s the difference between a content lecture and a problem workshop?
The content lecture goes through the course content. In the problem workshop, a tutor goes step by step through questions, so you see exactly how to approach them.
Are classes in groups or one-on-one?
Both the content lecture and the problem workshop are group classes.
Are classes online or in person?
All classes are online. We don’t currently have an in-person office.
What homework and feedback do I get?
Each week you get one homework sheet and either one topic test or one mini-exam:
- Homework sheet (20–30 minutes): exam problems, or Prose-made exam-style problems, on what was taught that week.
- Topic test (40–60 minutes): “separator” questions and focused preparation for your upcoming SAC.
- Mini-exam (about 60 minutes): every topic covered so far, so you revise as you go.
Homework isn’t enforced, but it’s encouraged.
What does “From” mean in the fees?
Fees are charged on the basis that a month is four weeks of classes. When a payment period has five weeks, the fifth week is charged at the weekly rate (the monthly fee divided by four):
- $180 for a four-week month, or $225 for a five-week month ($45 a week).
These are base charges; extras such as consultations may cost more.
Do you offer free trials?
Yes, in effect: you don’t pay until after your first week. If the structure doesn’t work for you, you can un-enrol after week 1 without paying anything.
Is the enrolment fee per subject?
Yes. The one-time $50 enrolment fee applies to each subject you enrol in, and the Summer Intensive counts on its own. For example, English and Physics would be $100 in enrolment fees, as would the Summer Intensive and English during the year.
